After eight years of construction and at a cost of NT$34 billion, the Xinyi Line was officially opened to the public on November 24, 2013. This new extension in the Taipei Metro system, commonly called the MRT, is 6.5 kilometers in length. It transports passengers from Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station to Taipei 101 / World Trade Center Station before ending at Xiangshan Station. This new east-west route makes travel to the Xinyi district easier and faster as well as eases the congestion on the Nangang Line.
The Xinyi Line also boasts stations with themes that reflect aspects of their surroundings. For example, Xiangshan Station’s theme is Chanting of the Tree Frogs, with bronze frogs and lotus leaves located throughout the station.
這經過八年的建設與斥資新台幣三百四十億元的營建費用，捷運信義線於 2013 年十一月二十四日正式對外營運。這條台北捷運系統（MRT）的新支線長六點五公里。這條支線可將乘客從中正紀念堂站載往台北 101／世貿捷運站，然後到達終點象山站。這條東西向的新路線使得通往信義區的交通更為簡便快速，並紓緩了南港線擁擠的交通。
信義線也以反映出周遭環境特色的主題捷運站而自豪。舉例來說，象山站的主題是樹蛙之歌，有青銅製的樹蛙和蓮葉來點綴整座捷運站。
