On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led an estimated 250,000 people on a march to Washington, DC, for jobs and freedom. The event was held to protest issues facing African Americans at the time, such as discrimination and economic inequality. On the 50th anniversary of that historic march, President Barack Obama stood on the very same spot as Dr. King. He spoke to another group of marchers and urged them and the rest of America to continue the fight for justice and equal rights. Thousands upon thousands of people, both young and old, braved the rain to show that they would continue the fight to let freedom ring.
