use 是使用，加上形容詞字尾 -ful 就變成 useful（可使用的）。

use 還有另一種形容詞變化 useless，-less 有「缺乏」的意思，useless 意思就是「沒用的；無效的」。

例句：
You will find hundreds of Internet software applications available on the web. Are they really useful?
你會在網路上發現數以百計的網路應用程式。他們真的好用嗎？
