最近不知何故常聽到這個詞，來和大家分享一下
我們知道drop這個字有「使…掉落」的意思
所以name-dropper字面上就是「撂下名字的人」
指一個老是愛提自己和名人或知名機關團體關係很好的人
而這樣的行為就叫name-dropping
例如：
A: Henry claims that he was buddies with Mark Zuckerberg in high school.
(亨利宣稱他在高中的時候和馬克祖格柏/臉書創辦人是好朋友。)
B: Well, we both know that he is a big name-dropper. God knows if that’s true. 
(唉，我們都知道他喜歡在嘴巴上和名人攀關係。誰曉得是不是真的。)
Name-droppers are insecure about their own social status. 
(喜歡誇耀自己和名人的關係的人對自己的社會地位沒有自信。)
The young man came across as a name-dropper during the job interview.
(這個年輕人在工作面試的時候誇耀自己和名人的關係。)
Their conversation was almost like a name-dropping contest.
(他們的對話像是在比賽誰認識的名人多。)
It really annoyed me when he couldn’t stop name-dropping in front of our new colleagues.
(他在新同事面前不停誇耀自己和名人的關係，真的很討厭。)
