ask

John asked to leave. (約翰要求離開) / John asked Mary to leave.

choose

I chose to help Tony out. (我決定幫東尼一把) / I chose Paul to help Tony out.

expect

They expect to arrive in Japan early. (他們預料將提早抵達日本) / They expect the high-ranking official to arrive in Japan early.

need

I need to mop the floor every day. (我需要每天拖地板) / I need her to mop the floor every day.

prepare

We prepared to take the test. (我們為參加考試做準備) / We prepared him to take the test.

promise

Kevin promised to quit smoking. (凱文答應要戒菸) / Kevin promised Monica to stop smoking.

threaten

His wife threatened to leave forever. (他太太威脅要永遠離開) / His wife threatened him to leave forever.

want

He wants to study French. (他想要學法文) / He wants his daughter to study French.

wish (
want 同義)

I wish to stay a little longer. (我想要再多待一會兒) / I wish Tim to stay a little longer.

would like (
wish

want
同義)

The teacher would like to start now. (這位老師想要現在開始) / The teacher would like his students to start now.
