filiation 是法律專用字，代表小孩與生父間的血緣關係，而且特指父系親屬，不可用來表示母系親屬。
若是一般對話中想表達親子關係，其實用 parent-child relationship、parenthood 就可以了。
例句：
An action for filiation is one in which the child asks the court to establish that he or she is the legal offspring of the father.
生父鑑定是小孩要求法庭建構他或她為父親合法後代的動作。
