用法

“Were to" 可用於現在的時間來強調此條件句所述的情況極不可能或完全不可能發生或非常可怕 (讓人不敢再想下去)。注意：這種特殊句型只用於 if 子句。

例句：

• If Sarah were to be rich, she would be horribly obnoxious. (如果莎拉富有，她會很討人厭) － 莎拉極不可能富有。
